Its goal was to create an awareness about the role women played in mathematics throughout history. The Math World Day 2015 was held on June 2, 2015. Singapore Math Olympiad is an annual gathering of the best math students in the world. This event is brought together by The Singapore School of Mathematics and School of Theology. This shows how Singapore Math Olympiad was started in 1988 by Mr Lee Kok Hua after he won a gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) held in Taiwan. SMO is a gathering of students who represent their national institutes and also from other countries to compete against one another for a high-profile math prize every year. It is being said that Singaporeans have a greater interest in mathematics than other nationalities. They have the highest mathematical abilities in the world. According to Mr Lee Kok Hua, Singapore has become a mathematical superpower because of its high performance in math Olympiads. This proves the importance of Singapore Math Olympiad in making students to overcome their difficulties with math problems every year.
